Through proper mix proportion design and surface treatment, GRC materials can achieve excellent waterproof performance. In the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base project, the Qinglong GRC curtain wall system withstood continuous rainstorms and demonstrated outstanding waterproof performance. The waterproof GRC formulation used in the project reduced the material's water absorption rate to below 8% by adding silane-based waterproofing agents (dosage 0.3%-0.5%) and optimizing the water-cement ratio (0.3-0.35). Meanwhile, component joints adopt a three-layer waterproof design: structural adhesive sealing, drainage channels, and pressure-equalization systems, forming a complete waterproofing system. After three rainy seasons, no leakage was observed on the inner side of the curtain wall system, and the waterproofing effect was highly recognized by the owner.

Waterproof Performance of the Material Body

By reducing the water-cement ratio and adding waterproofing agents, the material's water absorption rate is controlled below 10%. Particle grading is optimized to increase density and reduce capillary channels. This material-level waterproofing provides fundamental protection.

Surface Waterproofing Treatment Technology

Penetrating waterproof coatings are applied to form a hydrophobic layer. The surface coating bonds firmly with the substrate and offers good durability. Regular maintenance preserves long-term waterproofing effectiveness.
