The McWell Electronics Technology Industrial Park takes "historical charm and modern technology coexisting" as its core design concept. The exterior facade uses red brick texture paired with transparent glass curtain walls. In order to maintain the visual unity of the park inside and out, the interior lobby, corridors and reception spaces all use custom GRC components to replicate the texture of the original red bricks.

The project covers complex and irregularly shaped spaces such as flat walls, single-curved wall panels, double-curved arched walls, and three-dimensional shaped columns, breaking away from the cold industrial decoration style of traditional industrial parks. It integrates the texture of retro industrial red bricks with modern minimalist science and technology innovation space to create corporate reception and office public areas that are both textured, recognizable, and comfortable.

 


II. Core Technological Advantages of GRC Detailed Design in Projects

This project marks the owner's first large-scale application of GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) interior decoration. The entire process involved specialized and detailed design based on three standards: safety, fidelity, and durability. The technical solutions were jointly reviewed and approved by the owner, the design institute, and the construction company.

1. BIM 3D Digital Full-Process Modeling

Professional BIM design software was used to complete the precise modeling of the entire space, and the shapes of irregular components such as flat panels, single-curved and double-curved arch walls and decorative columns were simulated in advance. The unit component scheme was scientifically planned, and the straightness and symmetry of the brick joints were precisely controlled to minimize the gaps between components and ensure the overall smoothness and naturalness of the wall surface.

2. Differentiated component customization strategy for irregularly shaped parts

For different wall shapes, separate dedicated component panels are used, distinguishing four categories of components: flat panels, single-curved panels, double-curved panels, and vertical decorative columns. A unified standard of simulated red brick three-color texture is used to solve the problem of aesthetic splicing of large curved surfaces and continuous arched shapes.

3. Three-color coloring process for mineral raw materials

Unlike ordinary GRC that is painted and colored later on the market , the components in this project are colored with natural mineral pigments during the raw material mixing stage. Three layers of red and brown textures are mixed to completely replicate the natural mottled texture of old red bricks. The color penetrates the entire component, completely eliminating the problems of surface peeling, fading and whitening, and taking into account both visual realism and long-term durability.

4. Indoor Dedicated Safety Steel Structure Embedded System

To upgrade the load-bearing structure for indoor use, all components are pre-embedded with stainless steel sleeves and back steel frames during production, using an overall one-time pre-embedded spray molding process; all nodes of the main steel structure and back steel frame are provided with drawings and samples, and mass production can only begin after verification by three parties, thus avoiding the hidden dangers of loose installation and gap falling off from the structural source and meeting the safety standards for long-term indoor use.

 


III. Standardized Factory Prefabrication Production Process

Relying on its own GRC automated production base, the entire set of components is prefabricated in the factory, with strict control over texture, color, and structural precision.

1.1:1 High-elasticity silicone replica mold

The mold is made to a 1:1 scale based on the architectural design , using a high-elasticity silicone substrate to reproduce the original raised and recessed texture of the red brick at the millimeter level; the layered color mixing and pouring enhances the depth and layering of the brick surface, greatly improving the realism of the material.

2. GRC Automated Spray Molding

After the project was completed, the design renderings were fully realized. The applied spaces include the park's reception lobby with its curved red brick background wall, the continuous arched corridor with its double-curved GRC walls, and the independently designed decorative columns, among other core areas. The retro reddish-brown GRC texture, combined with the pure white arched structure and large-area glass curtain wall, creates a unique visual effect that blends retro industrial texture with modern scientific and technological aesthetics, making it the core area for showcasing the park's external image.
