Lightweight GRC panels, with their lightweight advantages, are widely used in interior ceilings, partition walls, and other scenarios. The bulk density range directly affects self-weight, strength, and installation efficiency. As Qinglong Group, with 28 years of deep expertise in the GRC field, has optimized its formulations to create lightweight GRC panels that balance bulk density and performance, meeting the lightweight requirements of different projects.
A lower bulk density is not always better for lightweight GRC panels; a balance must be found between lightness and strength. Too low a bulk density may result in insufficient strength, while too high loses the lightweight advantage. Qinglong's lightweight GRC panels have their bulk density controlled within a scientific range, balancing decorativeness and practicality.
Conventional lightweight GRC panels have a bulk density of 1.6-1.8g/cm³, suitable for interior partition walls and standard ceilings, with flexural strength ≥10MPa, meeting daily use requirements. Ultra-low density GRC panels have a bulk density of 1.4-1.6g/cm³, achieved by adding lightweight aggregates and optimizing fiber content, suitable for high-rise ceilings and long-span partition walls, effectively reducing building loads. In Huawei's Songshan Lake Terminal project, Qinglong used 1.5g/cm³ lightweight GRC panels, which met lightweight requirements while ensuring structural stability.
Aggregate selection is key. Using lightweight aggregates such as ceramsite and expanded perlite can reduce bulk density, while reasonable aggregate gradation must be ensured so that strength is not affected. Fiber content must be precisely controlled, with alkali-resistant glass fiber content ≥2.5%, to ensure strength meets standards. In terms of production processes, vacuum dewatering and foaming technologies can reduce bulk density while improving compactness. Qinglong uses automated production equipment to precisely control each process, achieving a balance between bulk density and strength.
Balancing Bulk Density and Performance: Qinglong's Technical Optimization Solutions
Through extensive testing, Qinglong has established the correlation between bulk density and strength, providing customized solutions for different projects. For example, interior decorative ceilings require lightness and aesthetics, so products of 1.4-1.5g/cm³ are selected; interior partition walls require both strength and sound insulation, so products of 1.6-1.7g/cm³ are used. In the Jiaxing Zhongguancun Shopping Center project, lightweight GRC panels of different bulk densities were selected according to the requirements of different areas, achieving a precise match between performance and needs.
The bulk density range of lightweight GRC panels is the balancing point between lightness and practicality. For 28 years, Qinglong has consistently adhered to the principles of "customization on demand, performance first," creating products with scientific bulk density ranges through material optimization and process innovation. Reasonable bulk density design allows lightweight GRC panels to reduce building loads while ensuring strength and durability, making them a preferred material for interior decoration.
