The load-bearing performance of GRC panel ceilings is the core of safety, directly affecting personal safety and service life. As a group that has undertaken large ceiling projects such as the GRG ceiling at Zhuhai Chimelong, Qinglong Group has strictly followed load-bearing design standards for 28 years, ensuring that GRC panel ceilings remain stable over the long term with no risk of falling.
GRC panel ceilings must withstand multiple external forces including dead weight, maintenance loads, and wind loads. Load-bearing requirements must comply with the Load Code for the Design of Building Structures and GRC industry standards; negligence at any stage may cause safety accidents. Through precise calculation and reinforced design, Qinglong builds a solid safety baseline into every GRC panel ceiling project.
Standard GRC panel ceilings have a uniformly distributed load capacity of ≥2.5kN/㎡ and a concentrated load capacity of ≥1.0kN (equivalent to a single-point pressure of a 100kg weight). For accessible ceilings, the uniformly distributed load capacity must be ≥5.0kN/㎡, with additional reinforced keels. In the Huawei headquarters project in Bantian, Shenzhen, Qinglong's GRC ceiling achieved a uniformly distributed load capacity of 3.0kN/㎡, far exceeding the basic standard and meeting the stringent requirements of high-end projects.
The strength of the GRC panel itself is the foundation: use panels with flexural strength ≥12MPa and a thickness of no less than 15mm. Keel spacing and hanger density directly affect load-bearing capacity: main keel spacing ≤1.2m, secondary keel spacing ≤600mm, and hanger spacing ≤500mm to ensure even load distribution. For large-span ceilings (span ≥3m), additional hanger rods and stiffening ribs are required. In the Zengcheng Cultural Conference Center project, Qinglong used BIM technology to simulate loads and optimize the layout of keels and hangers, enhancing load-bearing performance.
Qinglong's Load-Bearing Design System: Full-Process Control from Calculation to Testing
During the design phase, Qinglong performs precise load calculations based on ceiling area, span, and usage scenarios to determine panel thickness, keel specifications, and hanger density. In production, a “double-layer fiberglass mesh + local steel bar reinforcement” design is adopted to enhance the panels' load-bearing capacity. Before delivery, load tests are conducted on ceiling panels to ensure they meet standards. In the China Resources MixC One project in Wuxiang, Nanning, this system enabled the GRC ceiling to meet decorative requirements while ensuring long-term safety in use.
The load-bearing requirements of GRC panel ceilings are the baseline for safe use. For 28 years, Qinglong has consistently adhered to the principles of “standards as the foundation, precise calculation, and reinforced design.” Through scientific design and strict quality control, GRC panel ceilings achieve both beauty and a solid line of safety defense. Attaching importance to load-bearing requirements reflects responsibility for the project and for personnel safety, and is a core expression of Qinglong's commitment to “striving for excellence.”
