In the field of contemporary architectural decoration, GRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) has become the preferred material for high-end projects such as landmark buildings and commercial complexes, thanks to its lightweight, high-strength and flexible shaping properties. Among these applications, double-curved GRC panels, due to their complex curved geometry, place extremely high demands on the fiberglass mesh laying process. The curved geometry of double-curved GRC panels means that fiberglass mesh laying cannot follow the conventional process used for flat panels. First, mesh selection must balance strength and flexibility; alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh with an alkali content below 0.8% is typically used, with tensile strength in both warp and weft directions of ≥1000N/50mm to ensure uniform stress distribution across complex curved surfaces. Second, precise control of surface curvature requires the fiberglass mesh to be pre-formed. Qinglong obtains precise component data through 3D scanning technology and uses CNC equipment to pre-shape the fiberglass mesh so that it fully conforms to the curved surface, avoiding strength loss caused by on-site cutting.

In terms of laying technique, double-curved GRC panels must address the coordinated deformation between the fiberglass mesh and the substrate. Qinglong adopts a 'layered staggered-joint laying method': the bottom layer of fiberglass mesh is laid along the meridian direction of the curved surface, the middle layer is cross-lapped along the latitudinal direction, with each layer overlapping by ≥100mm and the overlap positions of adjacent layers staggered by more than 50%, forming a three-dimensional reinforcement system. This technique allows the fiberglass mesh to distribute stress evenly as the curved surface bends, effectively reducing the risk of cracking. Meanwhile, in sharp bend areas with a curvature radius ≤300mm, a 'pre-impregnation + local reinforcement' technique is applied: the fiberglass mesh is pre-soaked with a special resin adhesive to enhance its bond with the cement substrate, ensuring structural stability at complex joints.

Quality control is the core of fiberglass mesh laying for double-curved GRC panels. Qinglong has established full-process inspection standards: at the raw material stage, the alkali resistance and tensile modulus of the fiberglass mesh are sampled and tested; during production, BIM technology is used to monitor laying position deviations in real time, ensuring that mesh overlap errors within each square meter are ≤5mm; after forming, ultrasonic testing is used to verify the uniformity of the internal fiberglass distribution. In addition, for different climatic conditions, Qinglong has developed adaptive processes—in high temperature and high humidity environments, a low water-cement ratio formula is used together with vacuum degassing technology to reduce the impact of air bubbles on the bond between the fiberglass mesh and the substrate; in cold regions, antifreeze agents are added and curing temperatures adjusted to ensure sufficient hydration between the fiberglass mesh and the concrete.
