In contemporary architectural design, curved GRC shapes have become the finishing touch of high-end projects such as landmark buildings and cultural venues, thanks to their unique artistic expressiveness. However, the splicing precision of curved shapes directly affects the overall visual effect and structural safety of a building, and is widely recognized as a technical challenge in the industry. As an industry leader with 28 years of full-chain experience in UHPC/GRC/GRG/GRP materials, Qinglong Group draws on the practice of hundreds of complex projects to provide an in-depth analysis of the core requirements and systematic assurance solutions for the splicing precision of curved GRC shapes.

I. Core Technical Indicators for Splicing Precision of Curved GRC Shapes

Splicing precision control of curved GRC shapes must address both geometric dimensions and functional performance. In terms of geometric precision, general industry standards require that the dimensional error of individual components be ≤±3mm, joint gaps be ≤2mm, and curvature deviation be ≤1.5mm/m, ensuring no visually obvious splicing marks. Take the Nanjing East Road Century Plaza renovation project as an example: its hyperbolic translucent GRC curtain wall achieved seamless splicing of 1,200 irregularly shaped components through precision control, winning the Silver Award of the AALBORG WHITE Cup UHPC Construction Engineering Innovation Award. Functional precision involves waterproof sealing, structural load-bearing capacity, and adaptability to thermal expansion and contraction. Especially in regions with large temperature differences, reserved expansion joints and elastic sealing treatment are required to keep temperature-induced deformation within 0.5mm.

II. Full-Process Precision Assurance System: Closed-Loop Control from Design to Installation

Qinglong Group has pioneered a "3D digital full-process management and control system," establishing a closed loop of precision assurance from design development to construction acceptance. In the design phase, Rhino+Grasshopper parametric modeling and BIM technology are used to break down building surfaces into producible unit modules, with digital twin simulation of splicing effects to eliminate cumulative errors in advance. The production stage introduces industrial-grade five-axis machining equipment, combined with a self-developed mold precision control system, achieving a mold repeat positioning precision of ±0.1mm to ensure component consistency. The production base in Nanning, Guangxi, with an annual capacity of 600,000 square meters, achieves standardized production through automated assembly lines, improving precision stability by 30% compared with traditional processes.

The installation stage is the critical battleground of precision control. Qinglong's construction team uses 3D laser scanning technology for on-site positioning, combined with customized tooling fixtures and adjustable support systems to achieve millimeter-level installation adjustment. For the hyperbolic GRC exterior wall of the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center project, the innovative "pre-assembly + real-time monitoring" technology was applied: after completing 1:1 pre-assembly in the factory, real-time verification was carried out on site with a total station, ultimately achieving an overall splicing error of ≤5mm, far exceeding industry standards. As a contributing unit to the "Technical Standard for the Application of Glass Fibre Reinforced Cement (GRC) in Buildings," Qinglong has transformed this practical experience into industry technical specifications, driving the improvement of precision levels across the industry.

III. Material Innovation and Quality Traceability: The Underlying Logic of Precision Assurance

Material performance is the foundation of precision assurance. Qinglong's high-performance GRC formulation, combining alkali-resistant glass fibers with low-alkalinity cement, achieves a flexural strength of over 20MPa and a stable modulus of elasticity, ensuring component deformation of ≤0.3mm/m during long-term use. Addressing the load characteristics of complex curved surfaces, an innovative fiber directional arrangement technology is applied to make stress distribution more uniform and reduce splicing errors caused by material inhomogeneity.

The quality traceability system provides full life-cycle assurance for precision. Each GRC component is embedded with an RFID chip that records data throughout the entire process from raw materials to installation, and together with Qinglong's self-developed quality management platform, quality issues can be traced and analyzed. This "material-design-production-installation" full-chain control model has enabled overseas projects undertaken by Qinglong, such as the auxiliary works of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to remain free of significant deformation for more than 10 years under tropical climate conditions, fully validating the reliability of the precision assurance system.

Splicing precision control of curved GRC shapes represents a deep integration of materials science, digital technology, and engineering experience. Supported by its status as a National High-Tech Enterprise and a Provincial Engineering Technology Center, Qinglong Group has transformed 28 years of full-chain experience into replicable precision solutions, not only providing unlimited possibilities for designers to realize their creativity, but also setting an industry benchmark for the balance between building safety and aesthetics. In the future, with the development of UHPC/GRC composite technology, Qinglong will continue to push curved shape precision toward the micron level, advancing the realization of its corporate mission of "creating aesthetically beautiful buildings."
