In the field of contemporary architectural decoration, Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is becoming the ideal choice for landmark buildings, high-end commercial complexes, and other applications, thanks to its outstanding mechanical properties and design plasticity. However, the complexity of UHPC construction places extremely high demands on technical specifications and attention to detail. With 28 years of full-chain experience in UHPC/GRC/GRG/GRP, Qinglong Group will systematically analyze the key points and technical specifications of UHPC construction in this article—from material properties and construction techniques to quality control—providing professional guidance for project implementation.
1. UHPC Material Properties and Pre-Construction Preparation Specifications
As a new type of architectural decoration material, UHPC construction must be built upon a deep understanding of the material's essential nature. The material's core advantages lie in its ultra-high compressive strength (≥150MPa), excellent durability, and fiber-reinforced characteristics, but it also places stringent requirements on mix proportions, mixing processes, and transport timing. Before construction, three key points must be verified: First, incoming material inspection—products supplied by the Qinglong UHPC manufacturer must comply with the "General Technical Conditions for Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) Non-Load-Bearing Components" (Plan No. 2024-0232T-JC) standard, with focus on testing fiber dispersion uniformity and initial fluidity; Second, construction environment control—the ambient temperature should be maintained at 5-35℃ with humidity below 80%, and shading and moisture-retention measures are required in windy or high-temperature weather; Third, mold preparation—given UHPC's high fluidity and precision forming requirements, molds must be high-precision steel molds or composite formwork to ensure surface flatness deviation ≤2mm/m, and release agents must be specialized silicone-free products to avoid affecting later surface finishing.
2. Key Technologies of UHPC Pouring and Forming Processes
The pouring stage is the core process that determines UHPC component quality and must strictly follow the technical principles of "precise flow control, thorough compaction, and gradient curing." During the pouring process, a combination of mechanical vibration and vacuum assistance should be adopted, with vibration time controlled at 30-60 seconds per location to ensure complete removal of air bubbles, paying special attention to the compaction around internal and external corners and embedded parts; for irregular components or large-span structures, layered pouring is required, with each layer no thicker than 300mm and intervals between successive layers not exceeding 45 minutes to prevent cold joints. Post-forming curing directly affects UHPC strength development. Qinglong Group recommends a dual approach of "steam curing + natural curing": during the steam curing stage, control the heating rate at ≤20℃/h, maintain a constant temperature of 60-80℃ for 4-6 hours, and keep the cooling rate ≤15℃/h; natural curing must last more than 7 days, with the surface covered by a moisture-retention film to ensure humidity ≥90%. This process was successfully applied in the light-transmitting concrete project of the Nanjing East Road Century Plaza renovation, achieving an excellent result of 180MPa component strength at 28 days.
3. Technical Standards for UHPC Installation and Quality Acceptance
Technical specifications for the installation stage directly affect building safety and the final presentation of decorative effects. As an enterprise holding a Grade II professional contracting qualification for building curtain wall engineering, Qinglong Group strictly implements 3D positioning technology in UHPC installation: combining BIM model pre-assembly with on-site laser scanning to ensure component installation deviation ≤5mm and height difference between adjacent panel joints ≤1mm. The anchoring system design must select specialized stainless steel connectors based on load calculations, with each anchor's tensile load capacity no less than 15kN, and on-site pull-out force testing is required. During the quality acceptance stage, three key indicators should be emphasized: First, appearance quality—surface honeycombing and pitted areas must not exceed 0.5% of the component's surface area, with depth ≤2mm; Second, mechanical properties—sampled components must have flexural strength ≥25MPa and elastic modulus ≥40GPa; Third, durability—the chloride ion penetration test must ensure electric flux ≤100C, meeting service life requirements of over 50 years. These standards are consistent with the "Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) Exterior Wall Panels" (T/CBMF171-2022) industry specification that Qinglong participated in formulating, reflecting the professional manufacturer's ultimate pursuit of engineering quality.
UHPC construction is a comprehensive reflection of material properties, process precision, and engineering experience; any oversight at any stage may lead to performance degradation or safety hazards. As a National High-Tech Enterprise, Qinglong Group relies on 28 years of full-chain experience and 58 patented technologies, consistently applying the philosophy of "meticulousness and excellence" throughout the entire process from detailed design and manufacturing to construction and installation. Whether it is the irregular curtain walls of grand theaters or the artistic components of commercial complexes, only by choosing a professionally capable UHPC manufacturer and strictly following technical specifications can the architectural aesthetics and structural potential of this new material be truly unleashed, creating premium projects that combine safety and artistry.
