Achieving a high openwork ratio in UHPC shaping (typically an open area of ≥40%) while maintaining structural safety is the ultimate expression of material plasticity, reinforcement technology, and precision manufacturing processes. In the Ouargla hotel project in Algeria, Qinglong Group successfully produced UHPC curtain wall panels with an openwork ratio exceeding 50%. Its core technology can be summarized as a trinity solution of 'topology-optimized form-finding, directional fiber reinforcement, and micro-stress-controlled forming.' Through this technology, material usage is minimized while ensuring a flexural strength of ≥12MPa, achieving a perfect unity of visual transparency and structural stability.
Structural form-finding and topology optimization form the design foundation. Using finite element analysis software, 'openwork' simulations are performed on solid panels based on boundary conditions such as wind loads and self-weight, calculating the optimal material distribution paths to ensure smooth load flow and avoid stress concentration. Qinglong Group adopts parametric generative design to automatically seek the strongest structural form at a given openwork ratio, often producing natural textures resembling branching tree limbs—both beautiful and efficient. For regular patterns, sufficient reinforcing edges must be provided around the openings (typically ≥50mm wide).
Fiber reinforcement is the load-bearing core. High-openwork areas are weak points, so it is essential to ensure directional distribution of fibers (typically alkali-resistant glass fibers or fine-diameter steel fibers) and a high volume fraction (up to 3%) at the openwork edges. Qinglong Group uses robotic directional spraying technology, causing fibers to preferentially align along the principal stress directions, with locally intensified spraying around the openings to form a 'reinforcement frame.' For especially slender connecting sections, GFRP bars or fine stainless steel wires can be pre-embedded as main reinforcement.
Production processes control forming stresses. High-openwork panels are prone to damage during demolding, so flexible molds (such as silicone molds) and optimized demolding angles (≥3°) are required. The curing regime must be precise, with gradual temperature increase and decrease to prevent cracking caused by uneven shrinkage. Through this series of technologies, Qinglong Group enables UHPC to display the ultimate beauty of lightness while remaining unbreakably strong.
