The production process of UHPC is indeed far more complex than that of traditional concrete, a complexity that stems from its ultimate pursuit of material homogeneity and density. As a high-end building material, UHPC production requires precision equipment, strict control, and extensive experience. Drawing on 28 years of production practice, Qinglong Group will analyze the key technical points and challenges of the UHPC production process.
The batching and metering stage demands extremely high precision. The weighing errors of various raw materials must be controlled within ±0.5%, especially for trace chemical admixtures and fiber materials, where any deviation will significantly affect the final performance. Qinglong Group uses a fully automatic computer control system to achieve precise control of the batching process and ensure the consistency of every batch of products. This precision requirement is far higher than that of ordinary concrete production, and even more stringent than GRC production.
The mixing process is the core difficulty in UHPC production. Due to the extremely low water-binder ratio (typically 0.15-0.20), the materials have poor fluidity and require high-shear mixing equipment. Qinglong Group has introduced German dual planetary mixers which, through special paddle design and rotation speed control, ensure that fibers are evenly distributed without clumping. Mixing usually takes 15-30 minutes, 3-5 times that of ordinary concrete; this long mixing time is a necessary condition for ensuring material homogeneity.
The casting and forming process requires special techniques. The high viscosity of UHPC makes traditional casting methods difficult to apply, so pumping with pressure or vibration compaction must be used. For components with complex shapes, Qinglong Group has developed dedicated casting processes that avoid defects by controlling flow rate and direction. Compared with the spray-up process of GRC, UHPC casting requires even more precise control.
The curing regime is a key link in ensuring UHPC performance. UHPC usually adopts heat curing to accelerate the hydration reaction, and the curing temperature and time need to be precisely controlled. Qinglong Group's curing kilns are equipped with intelligent temperature control systems that automatically adjust the curing curve according to product thickness and environmental conditions, ensuring full strength development. Research shows that an appropriate curing regime can increase UHPC strength by more than 20%, a process more complex than GRC curing.
Quality control runs throughout the entire production process. From raw material warehousing to finished product shipment, every stage has strict testing standards. Qinglong Group has established a full-process quality traceability system to ensure that any problem can be promptly located and corrected. This comprehensive quality management is the guarantee for producing high-performance UHPC and the foundation of our company's stable product quality.
