UHPC manufacturer pricing is never arbitrary—behind every price lie core driving factors. Understanding these factors helps project decision-makers more accurately assess the reasonableness of quotations and avoid pitfalls such as "overpaying for poor value" or "falling into traps with low prices."
As a senior manufacturer that participated in drafting UHPC industry standards, Qinglong Group draws on 28 years of production and pricing experience to provide an in-depth analysis of the core factors affecting UHPC manufacturer pricing.
Raw materials account for an extremely high proportion of UHPC costs, and premium raw materials directly push up product prices. When producing UHPC products, Qinglong Group selects high-grade alkali-resistant cement, imported alkali-resistant glass fibers, and natural quartz aggregates. These raw materials cost far more than common substitutes, but they ensure flexural strength above 20MPa and aging resistance that meets service requirements of more than 20 years. Some manufacturers, however, opt for low-grade cement, recycled fibers, and similar materials—costs drop significantly and prices fall accordingly, but product performance cannot be guaranteed.
Standardized UHPC products involve simple processes and relatively stable prices, while customized products see wider price fluctuations due to process complexity. For the Century Plaza project on Nanjing East Road, Shanghai New World, undertaken by Qinglong, UHPC wood-grain translucent panels were required, produced with a precision process of manually inserting light-guide rods. The largest panel measured 12m², and such extremely high process complexity naturally commands pricing above standardized products. In addition, customized requirements such as double-curved shapes, openwork carvings, and oversized irregular forms require extra investments in custom molds, parametric design, and more, which also drive prices up.
Manufacturers with large production capacity can reduce unit costs through economies of scale, making their prices more competitive. Qinglong has an annual capacity of 600,000 square meters and, supported by a nationwide network of offices, can effectively spread out raw material procurement, manufacturing, and logistics costs, resulting in more reasonable pricing. Meanwhile, value-added services are also an important part of the price structure. Qinglong's full-chain services—including detailed design, installation guidance, and after-sales maintenance—are incorporated into its pricing system. Manufacturers that simply sell products may offer relatively lower prices, but customers must bear the cost of follow-up services themselves.
Industry-leading manufacturers, with strong brand power and deep technical expertise, are usually priced in the upper-middle range of a reasonable band. As a National High-Tech Enterprise and a "Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative" enterprise, Qinglong holds 58 patents and has participated in drafting multiple industry standards; its brand value and technical advantages justify its reasonable price positioning. Emerging or small manufacturers, by contrast, may adopt low-price strategies to open up the market, but they often fall short in quality consistency and service capability.
UHPC manufacturers' prices are the result of multiple factors working together, at their core a reflection of the value of quality, craftsmanship, and service. Qinglong Group has always priced reasonably based on core factors such as raw material costs, process complexity, and service content, delivering customers a procurement experience where "quality and price are equally matched."
