The product testing standards of GRC manufacturers mainly include national/industry standards and internal enterprise standards. National/industry standards are the minimum requirement, while premium manufacturers adopt stricter internal standards to ensure stable and reliable product quality. Understanding these testing standards helps users better evaluate a manufacturer's product quality and avoid being misled by "meets the standard means high quality" marketing claims. As a manufacturer that participated in standard drafting, Qinglong provides a detailed analysis of the core testing standards and practical requirements for GRC products.
Core national/industry standards: defining the quality baseline. The core testing standards for domestic GRC products currently include: 1. Technical Standard for Application of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) in Buildings (JGJ/T423-2018): regulates the entire process of design, production, construction, and acceptance of GRC components, specifying requirements for mechanical properties, durability, installation precision, and more; 2. Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) Decorative Products (JC/T940-2022): a dedicated standard for GRC decorative products, specifying testing indicators for raw materials, appearance, dimensional deviation, mechanical properties, durability, and more; 3. Classification of Burning Behavior of Building Materials and Products (GB 8624-2012): the burning performance of GRC products must meet the Class A non-combustible standard; 4. Limits of Radionuclides in Building Materials (GB 6566-2010): ensures products are free of radioactive contamination. Qinglong participated in the revision of the first two core standards; its product testing strictly follows these standards, with some indicators even exceeding the standard requirements.
Key testing items and standard requirements. The core testing items for GRC products fall into four categories—mechanical properties, durability, appearance and dimensions, and environmental performance—each with clear standard limits: 1. Mechanical properties: flexural strength ≥20MPa (standard requires ≥15MPa), compressive strength ≥40MPa (standard requires ≥30MPa), impact strength ≥3.0kJ/m² (standard requires ≥2.0kJ/m²); 2. Durability: freeze-thaw resistance ≥300 cycles (standard requires ≥200) with strength loss ≤10%; 500 hours of UV aging with strength loss ≤8% and no chalking or cracking; impermeability grade ≥P8 (standard requires ≥P6); 3. Appearance and dimensions: surface flatness error ≤±2mm/m (standard requires ≤±3mm/m), dimensional deviation ≤±2mm (standard requires ≤±3mm), no obvious cracks, chipped edges, or corners; 4. Environmental performance: radionuclide limits meet Class A requirements, with no release of harmful substances such as formaldehyde or benzene. Qinglong's GRC products exceed the standards in both mechanical properties and durability; for example, flexural strength can reach over 25MPa and freeze-thaw resistance can reach 500 cycles.
Internal enterprise standards: quality upgrades by premium manufacturers. Leading manufacturers all establish internal standards stricter than national/industry standards to ensure product quality stability and long-term reliability. Qinglong's internal standards are 20%-30% stricter than industry standards on core indicators: for mechanical properties, internal control requires flexural strength ≥25MPa and compressive strength ≥45MPa; for durability, internal control requires ≥500 freeze-thaw cycles and ≥1000 hours of UV aging resistance; for appearance and dimensions, internal control requires flatness error ≤±1.5mm/m and dimensional deviation ≤±1mm. In addition, Qinglong has established a three-level testing process of "incoming raw material inspection – random in-process sampling – full inspection of finished products before shipment"; every batch must pass all testing items before leaving the factory, preventing "batch quality problems."
Testing methods and authoritative institutions. GRC product testing must follow the methods specified in the standards and be performed by third-party institutions with CMA (China Metrology Accreditation) qualifications: mechanical properties are tested with universal testing machines; durability is tested with equipment such as freeze-thaw test chambers and UV aging chambers; appearance and dimensions are checked with tools such as 2m straightedges and laser rangefinders. Qinglong entrusts its product testing to authoritative institutions such as the National Building Materials Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and the Guangdong Building Materials Research Institute; the test reports are legally valid and can be verified through the institutions' official websites. Some small manufacturers replace third-party testing with in-house testing to cut costs; the credibility of such results is low, so choose carefully.
Testing standards are the "lifeline" of GRC product quality: national/industry standards set the baseline, while internal enterprise standards determine the ceiling. As a manufacturer that participated in standard drafting and maintains a strict internal control system, Qinglong's product testing not only meets standard requirements but also safeguards long-term product stability through upgraded indicators and improved processes. For users, choosing a manufacturer that follows strict testing standards and holds authoritative test reports is the key to ensuring GRC product quality.
