Preventing freeze-thaw damage to GRC exterior walls in severe cold regions (winter temperatures ≤-10°C, freeze-thaw cycles ≥50 per year) requires efforts across four dimensions: "material modification, production processes, installation construction, and later-stage maintenance". The core goal is a strength retention rate ≥90% after 300 freeze-thaw cycles. Through technical optimization, Qinglong has enabled multiple projects in northern China to remain free of freeze-thaw cracking over 10 years of use.
I. Material Modification: Enhancing Core Freeze Resistance
The material formula is the foundation of freeze resistance. Air-entraining agent addition: at a dosage of 0.01-0.03%, tiny closed air bubbles (0.05-0.2mm in diameter) are introduced to relieve frost heave pressure; Qinglong's air-entraining agent brings GRC air content to 4-6%, improving freeze resistance by 30%. Optimized aggregate gradation: continuously graded quartz sand (0.15-0.6mm) is selected to reduce porosity; Qinglong aggregates have a mud content ≤0.3% and a density ≥2.2g/cm³. Low-alkali cement selection: low-alkali sulphoaluminate cement with alkali content ≤0.6% is adopted; Qinglong cement retains ≥95% of its strength after 300 freeze-thaw cycles. Fiber reinforcement: alkali-resistant glass fibers are surface-coated with an anti-freeze coating; Qinglong fibers show a freeze retention rate ≥90% with no breakage after freeze-thaw cycles.
II. Production and Installation: Blocking Freeze-Thaw Pathways
Process and structural optimization prevent moisture penetration. Densified production: high-pressure vibration (pressure ≥0.5MPa) plus vacuum degassing achieves a bubble rate ≤2%; Qinglong's vacuum degassing reduces internal pores by 80%. Steam curing: constant-temperature curing at 45-50°C for 48 hours ensures full hydration; GRC cured by Qinglong reaches 90% of its design strength at 7 days. Sealed construction: panel joints use elastic sealant (elongation ≥500%) plus foam rod filling to prevent rainwater penetration; Qinglong sealant does not become brittle or crack at -40°C. Drainage design: drainage holes (spacing ≤1m) are reserved during installation to discharge meltwater promptly; Qinglong drainage holes are 8-10mm in diameter with no standing water residue. Integrated insulation: GRC panels are composited with insulation layers to prevent icing of the base layer; Qinglong composite panels have a thermal insulation coefficient ≥0.8W/(m²·K).
III. Later Maintenance and Qinglong Project Practice
Maintenance extends the effective life of freeze resistance. Pre-winter preparation: sealant and drainage holes are inspected every October and damage repaired; Qinglong's northern projects achieve 100% pre-winter maintenance coverage. Snow clearing: surface snow is removed promptly to avoid alternating freeze-thaw; Qinglong provides dedicated cleaning tools, and sharp scraping is prohibited. Regular protection: an anti-freeze protective agent is applied every 3 years; Qinglong's protective agent withstands low temperatures down to -50°C. Project cases: the Zhumadian Commercial Street renovation project in Henan (winter low of -15°C), adopting Qinglong's anti-freeze solution, achieved a strength retention rate of 92% after 300 freeze-thaw cycles, with no cracking over 8 years of use; a municipal landscape GRC component in northern China, after anti-freeze treatment, has gone through 10 severe winters with no performance degradation.
