For UHPC exterior walls in severe cold regions (winter temperatures ≤ -10℃, freeze-thaw cycles ≥ 50 times/year), resisting freeze-thaw damage requires four-dimensional protection covering "material modification, production processes, installation construction, and later maintenance", with the core goal of a strength retention rate ≥ 90% after 300 freeze-thaw cycles. Through air-entraining agent addition, densified production, and sealing treatment, Qinglong has enabled multiple northern projects to meet frost resistance standards with a service life exceeding 20 years.
I. Material Modification: Enhancing Core Frost Resistance Performance
Material formula optimization is the foundation of frost resistance. Air-entraining agent addition: dosage of 0.01-0.03%, introducing tiny air bubbles (diameter 0.05-0.2mm) to relieve frost-heave pressure; Qinglong's air-entraining agent brings UHPC air content to 4-6%, improving frost resistance by 30%. Optimized aggregate gradation: continuously graded quartz sand (0.15-0.6mm) is selected to reduce porosity; Qinglong aggregates have mud content ≤ 0.3% and density ≥ 2.4g/cm³. Frost-resistant cement selection: low-alkali sulphoaluminate cement (frost resistance grade ≥ F300); Qinglong cement retains ≥ 95% of its strength after 300 freeze-thaw cycles. Fiber optimization: alkali-resistant glass fibers are surface-coated with a frost-resistant coating; Qinglong fibers have a frost retention rate ≥ 90% with no breakage after freeze-thaw cycles.
II. Production Process and Installation Construction: Blocking Freeze-Thaw Pathways
Process and construction optimization prevents freeze-thaw damage. Densified production: high-pressure vibration (pressure ≥ 0.6MPa) + vacuum degassing keeps the air bubble rate ≤ 2%; Qinglong's vacuum degassing reduces internal pores by 80%. Steam curing: 45-50℃ steam curing for 48 hours ensures full hydration; Qinglong's cured UHPC reaches 90% of design strength at 7 days. Sealed construction: panel joints are filled with elastic sealant (elongation ≥ 500%) + foam rods to prevent rainwater penetration; Qinglong sealant remains frost-resistant at -40℃ without brittle cracking. Drainage design: drainage holes (spacing ≤ 1m) are reserved during installation to discharge meltwater promptly; Qinglong's drainage holes are 8-10mm in diameter, ensuring smooth drainage without water accumulation. Integrated insulation: UHPC panels are composited with insulation layers to prevent base layer freezing; Qinglong composite panels have an insulation coefficient ≥ 0.8W/(㎡·K), keeping base layer temperatures stable.
III. Later Maintenance and Qinglong Project Practice
Later maintenance extends the effective frost resistance period. Pre-winter inspection: sealant and drainage holes are checked before each winter and damage repaired promptly; Qinglong's inspection team completes northern project inspections before October. Snow removal: surface snow is cleared promptly to prevent melted snow from seeping in; Qinglong provides snow removal guidance and prohibits scraping with sharp tools. Regular protection: a frost-resistant protective agent is applied once every 3 years; Qinglong's protective agent withstands low temperatures down to -50℃, enhancing frost resistance. Project case: a high-end residential UHPC exterior wall project in northern China (winter minimum temperature -25℃) achieved a strength retention rate of 92% after 300 freeze-thaw cycles through Qinglong's frost resistance solution, with 8 years of use showing no cracking or spalling. A municipal landscape UHPC component, after frost-resistant treatment, has experienced 10 severe cold winters with no performance degradation, earning recognition from the local construction authority.
