Anti-rust measures for expansion anchor screws during GRC component installation must address four aspects: material selection, surface treatment, installation protection, and later maintenance, with the core goal of preventing screw corrosion that leads to connection failure. Through standardized anti-rust processes, Qinglong ensures expansion anchor screws have an anti-rust life of ≥20 years, and multiple projects have used them for over 10 years with no corrosion or loosening.
I. Material Selection: Eliminating Corrosion Risks at the Source
Screw material is the foundation of rust prevention and must suit the service environment. Screw material: prioritize stainless steel 304/316 expansion anchor screws; coastal, high-humidity, and industrially polluted environments must use 316 stainless steel to avoid electrochemical corrosion. All Qinglong outdoor projects use 316 stainless steel expansion anchor screws, with no corrosion after ≥500 hours of salt spray testing. Accessory matching: nuts and washers must be of the same material as the screws (stainless steel) to prevent corrosion caused by contact between dissimilar metals; Qinglong's matching accessories are 100% consistent with screw material, eliminating electrochemical corrosion risk. Screw specifications: select appropriate specifications based on GRC component weight (diameter ≥12mm, length ≥80mm) to prevent deformation from overload; Qinglong screws have a load capacity of ≥5kN, meeting standard GRC component installation requirements.
II. Surface Treatment: Enhancing Screw Rust Resistance
Screw surface treatment can further improve rust prevention. Surface coating: stainless steel screws can be additionally coated with anti-rust paint (epoxy zinc-rich primer) or a fluorocarbon coating; non-stainless steel screws require hot-dip galvanizing (zinc coating thickness ≥85μm). Qinglong coatings are ≥100μm thick, with no peeling in artificial accelerated aging tests. Rust removal and cleaning: before installation, remove oil and loose rust from the screw surface to ensure it is clean; Qinglong wipes screw surfaces with anhydrous ethanol before installation, leaving no oil residue. Damage prevention: avoid scratching the screw surface coating during installation by using dedicated wrenches (socket wrenches); Qinglong prohibits striking directly with ordinary wrenches, keeping the coating damage rate ≤0.5%.
III. Installation Protection and Later Maintenance: Long-Term Rust Prevention Assurance
Protection during installation and later maintenance extend the anti-rust service life. Installation hole protection: after drilling, clean dust and debris from the hole and inject anchor adhesive (epoxy anchor adhesive) to enhance fixing effect and sealing; Qinglong's anchor adhesive is filled densely with no gaps. Joint sealing: after screw installation, apply weather-resistant sealant (silicone or polyurethane) at the contact surface between the screw head and GRC to form a sealed protective layer; Qinglong sealant covers the screw head and the surrounding 10mm area with no exposed parts. Later maintenance: inspect once a year, checking whether screws are loose and whether sealant has aged, and replace promptly if corrosion is found; Qinglong uses a torque wrench to check fastening force during inspections, with a loosening rate ≤1%. Project case: the GRC component installation at the Nanning Liyuan Hotel adopted 316 stainless steel expansion anchor screws + coating protection + sealing treatment, with over 10 years of use showing no corrosion and firm connections.
