Is GRC Durable? Analysis of Service Life and Environmental Adaptability

GRC offers outstanding durability, able to withstand various forms of erosion from the natural environment and during use. 1. Weathering Resistance and Climate Adaptability: Withstanding Natural Erosion

GRC effectively withstands erosion under different climate conditions. UV resistance: both the cement matrix and the fibres are anti-aging treated, and the surface contains no organic components, so it does not fade or chalk after long-term sun exposure. Qinglong products passed a 1,000-hour UV aging test with a strength retention rate above 90%. Temperature change resistance: with good thermal stability, it can endure extreme temperature swings from -40℃ to 70℃ without cracking or flaking. A project in a cold northern region (a municipal landscape in Northeast China) using Qinglong GRC products remains intact after years of freeze-thaw cycles. Wind and rain erosion resistance: the high surface density makes it difficult for rainwater to penetrate; prolonged rain exposure causes no mold growth or water stains. GRC components at Sanya Festival Plaza, located in a tropical marine climate, show no obvious weathering after 8 years of use.

2. Corrosion Resistance and Environmental Durability: Suited to Special Environments

GRC maintains its durability even in special environments. Chemical corrosion resistance: it offers a degree of tolerance to chemicals such as acids, alkalis and salts, making it suitable for chemical industrial parks and coastal areas. GRC products customized by Qinglong for coastal projects are formulated with salt-corrosion inhibitors, achieving a chloride ion penetration coefficient ≤1.0×10⁻¹²m²/s and meeting marine environment requirements. Biological erosion resistance: containing no organic nutrients, it does not attract insects or breed microorganisms, making it suitable for crowded places such as parks and schools. Environmental durability: made of inorganic materials, free of harmful substances such as formaldehyde and benzene, and recyclable, it meets green building requirements. Qinglong GRC products have passed environmental testing, with all indicators meeting the national standard GB/T 26748-2011.

3. Durability Assurance: Craftsmanship and Maintenance for Longevity

Scientific craftsmanship and standardized maintenance further extend service life. Production process assurance: quality raw materials (low-alkali cement, high-purity aggregates), precise proportioning and professional curing improve durability at the source. Qinglong uses custom-grade low-alkali cement with a curing period of no less than 28 days to ensure full hydration of the matrix. Surface protection treatment: some projects can be treated with hydrophobic agents and protective coatings to enhance waterproofing, stain resistance and corrosion resistance.
