The durability of a GRC exterior wall system directly determines its service life and maintenance costs. It must be quantitatively measured through a scientific indicator system, evaluated across multiple dimensions such as material performance, structural stability, and environmental adaptability, providing a basis for project selection and quality control. Drawing on industry standards and practical experience, Qinglong analyzes the core durability indicators and testing methods.
1. Core Material Performance Indicators: The Foundation of Durability
Material performance is the core of durability, with mechanical performance and weather resistance indicators requiring particular attention. Mechanical performance indicators: flexural strength ≥15MPa, compressive strength ≥40MPa, and elastic modulus ≥15GPa, ensuring structural stability over long-term use with no significant strength degradation; Qinglong GRC achieves a measured flexural strength of over 20MPa, far exceeding the baseline standard. Frost resistance indicator: frost resistance grade ≥F200; after 200 freeze-thaw cycles, strength loss ≤10% with no surface spalling or cracking, suitable for use in severely cold regions. Water resistance indicator: after 24 hours of immersion, volume water absorption ≤8% and strength loss ≤5%, preventing performance decline caused by prolonged moisture exposure. Alkali resistance: after a 1,000-hour alkali resistance test, glass fiber retention ≥90%, preventing component failure caused by fiber corrosion.
2. Structural Stability Indicators: Long-Term Safety Guarantee
Structural stability indicators reflect the overall durability of the system and prevent deformation, detachment, and other problems during use. Bond strength indicator: the bond strength between GRC panels and the base layer or insulation layer is ≥0.6MPa, ensuring secure interlayer connections with no risk of delamination; Qinglong uses a specialized adhesive achieving a bond strength of over 0.8MPa. Anchoring system durability: after a 1,000-hour salt spray test, connectors show rusted area ≤5% and load-bearing capacity degradation ≤10%; selecting stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized connectors can improve this indicator. Deformation performance indicator: linear shrinkage ≤0.8mm/m, with the coefficient of thermal expansion controlled at 10-12×10⁻⁶/℃, preventing cracking caused by temperature changes or drying shrinkage. Impact resistance: after a 10J impact test, the surface shows no penetrating cracks, with impact strength ≥3kJ/m², resisting damage from external forces.
3. Environmental Adaptability Indicators: Suitability Assessment for Different Scenarios
Environmental adaptability indicators reflect GRC's durability under specific conditions and require targeted testing. UV aging resistance: after a 1,000-hour UV aging test, surface color difference ΔE≤3 with no chalking or fading, suitable for regions with intense sun exposure. Salt spray corrosion resistance: coastal projects require a 500-hour salt spray test, with no obvious rust or whitening on the surface and no corrosion points on connectors. Stain resistance: after contaminant adhesion, the cleaning rate is ≥90%, preventing long-term pollution from degrading appearance and corroding materials. Chemical corrosion resistance: after immersion in acid and alkaline solutions, strength loss ≤8%, suitable for industrially polluted areas; Qinglong customizes GRC formulations for different environments to enhance environmental adaptability indicators.
4. Durability Testing Methods and Standards: Ensuring Quantified Indicators
Standardized testing methods ensure authentic and reliable indicator data and must follow industry standards. Laboratory testing: in accordance with the JC/T940-2022 standard 'Glass Fibre Reinforced Cement (GRC) Decorative Products', sampling tests are conducted on mechanical performance, frost resistance, water resistance, and other indicators, with a sampling ratio of no less than 3% per batch. On-site testing: a rebound hammer tests GRC surface strength, an ultrasonic detector screens for internal cracks, and pull-out tests measure bond strength and anchoring force. Long-term tracking tests: completed projects undergo 5-10 years of follow-up monitoring, recording data such as strength changes and appearance damage to verify the actual performance of durability indicators; Qinglong has established a durability testing database to provide data support for product optimization and project selection.
