As a vital component of building fire protection systems, fire-resistant GRC decorative panels have core technical indicators that directly determine the fire safety rating, and they must strictly comply with national fire protection standards and industry specifications. Clarifying key indicators and compliance pathways is essential to ensuring building fire safety. Drawing on 28 years of experience in manufacturing fire-resistant components, Qinglong analyzes the core technical indicators and practical solutions.
1. Core Technical Indicator Specifications for Fire-Resistant GRC Decorative Panels
According to the Classification for Burning Behavior of Building Materials and Products (GB 8624-2012) and the Glass Fibre Reinforced Cement (GRC) Decorative Products standard, the core indicators of fire-resistant GRC decorative panels must meet multi-dimensional requirements. The burning performance rating must reach Class A non-combustible material standard, with no dripping debris and a smoke toxicity rating of ≤ ZA1; fire resistance limits are divided into three grades based on application scenarios—0.5h, 1.0h, and 1.5h—where fire-resistant GRC panels for curtain walls must be ≥1.0h and panels for partition walls must be ≥1.5h; thermal conductivity must be ≤0.8W/(m·K), with a strength retention rate of ≥30% at high temperatures (600°C) to prevent rapid failure during fires. Tested by authoritative institutions, Qinglong fire-resistant GRC panels far exceed standard requirements in all indicators, with a fire resistance limit of up to 2.0h.
2. Key Material and Process Factors Affecting Fire Resistance
Fire resistance performance stems from precise control of material formulations and production processes. In terms of materials, low-alkali cement and inorganic fire-resistant aggregates (such as quartz sand and perlite) are selected to replace combustible aggregates and reduce fire risk; fire-retardant additives (such as magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide) are added at a dosage of 5%-8% to enhance flame retardancy—Qinglong's proprietary fire-resistant formulation achieves a stable Class A burning performance; alkali-resistant glass fiber is used, which does not easily decompose at high temperatures, ensuring component integrity during fires. In terms of processes, high-pressure vibration molding ensures panel density of ≥97%, reducing porosity and preventing flame penetration; a fire-resistant coating with a thickness of ≥0.8mm is applied to the surface for further enhanced fire protection—the fire-resistant GRC components for the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater adopted this process.
3. Technical Optimization Solutions for Meeting Fire Resistance Standards
Full-process optimization upgrades fire resistance performance. Formulation optimization: a composite system of "cement + silica fume + fire-resistant aggregate + flame retardant" forms a dense fire barrier, generating a ceramicized shell at high temperatures to block flame spread; structural design: fire-resistant ribs are set inside panels at a spacing of ≤500mm to enhance structural stability at high temperatures; composite fire protection design: fire-resistant GRC panels are combined with rock wool, fire boards, and other materials to form an integrated fire protection system, increasing the fire resistance limit by more than 50%. In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center project, Qinglong achieved a fire resistance limit of 1.5h for fire-resistant GRC curtain walls through composite design, meeting the fire protection requirements of high-end public buildings. In addition, moisture content during production is strictly controlled at ≤8% to prevent moisture from affecting fire performance.
4. Fire Resistance Testing and Quality Assurance Measures
Rigorous testing and quality control ensure fire resistance indicators meet standards. Factory testing: samples from each batch are tested for burning performance, fire resistance limit, and smoke toxicity, with a required pass rate of 100%; third-party authoritative certification: passing tests by the National Fire Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center to obtain Class A fire protection certification; on-site spot checks: components are randomly selected for combustion tests before project installation to verify fire performance. Qinglong has established a dedicated fire resistance quality control system with full-process traceability from raw material intake to finished product delivery, ensuring that every fire-resistant GRC decorative panel complies with fire safety standards and providing reliable support for building fire safety.
