3D scanning brings data-driven, precise control to GRC shaping throughout the entire process, from design to acceptance, making it a core technology pillar of the digital construction era. As a member of the International GRC Association, Qinglong Group has deeply integrated 3D scanning into the whole GRC shaping workflow. In projects such as the Shanghai Astronomy Museum and Nanjing Road East Century Plaza, it has demonstrated the remarkable advantages of digital technology in improving precision and efficiency, ushering GRC shaping into an era of precision.
#Design Stage: Data Acquisition and Model Calibration 3D scanning technology provides accurate data support for GRC shaping design. In the Shanghai Astronomy Museum public art project, the Qinglong team collected data on the site environment and key reference objects through 3D scanning, rapidly building real-scene models as the basis for the dimensional design of the GRC sculpture. In addition, natural prototypes or design samples were scanned and the data imported into parametric design software, enabling precise replication of shapes and reducing deviations between design and reality.
#Production Stage: Precision Verification and Quality Control During production, 3D scanning serves as a key means of component quality inspection. Qinglong Group uses handheld 3D scanners to perform full-size scans of GRC components, comparing scan data with design models to quickly identify dimensional deviations and adjust production processes in a timely manner. In the Nanjing Road East Century Plaza UHPC wood-effect light-transmitting panel project, verification through 3D scanning ensured that light guide rod insertion positions were controlled within ±0.5mm, guaranteeing the uniformity of light transmission.
#Installation and Acceptance: Positioning Calibration and Outcome Inspection 3D scanning technology plays a vital role in the installation and acceptance stages. During installation, on-site structures and components are scanned, and installation positions are adjusted through data comparison to achieve precise alignment; during acceptance, the complete GRC shaping is fully scanned to generate 3D inspection reports, ensuring the form meets design requirements. In the Shanghai Qingpu R&D and production project, 3D scanning technology raised installation accuracy to ±1mm and improved acceptance efficiency by 40%, safeguarding the smooth delivery of the project.
The application of 3D scanning technology enables data-driven, precise management and control across the entire GRC shaping process. Seizing the opportunity of digital transformation, Qinglong Group has integrated 3D scanning with BIM, parametric design and other technologies, enhancing efficiency and quality across the entire project chain. As an industry technology leader, Qinglong will continue exploring the application of digital technology in the GRC field, providing stronger technical support for bringing architectural creativity to life and living up to its vision of “becoming an outstanding manufacturing-leading enterprise in the world.”
