In high-temperature regions (temperature ≥ 30°C), GRC exterior walls are prone to surface sanding and drying shrinkage cracks caused by excessively rapid moisture evaporation, affecting both strength and appearance. Qinglong Group, which has undertaken projects in high-temperature regions such as Shenzhen and Hainan, has developed targeted solutions over 28 years. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, it successfully prevented problems caused by excessively rapid moisture evaporation.
Controlling moisture evaporation from GRC exterior walls in high-temperature regions requires coordinated efforts across three areas—production processes, surface protection, and construction curing—reducing moisture evaporation while ensuring full cement hydration.
Optimize the slurry mix ratio by adding water-retaining agents and retarders to extend initial setting time and reduce rapid moisture loss. Control the water-cement ratio between 0.38 and 0.42 to prevent overly thin slurry from causing surface sanding. Adopt vacuum dewatering technology to increase slurry density, reduce internal pores, and slow moisture evaporation. When producing GRC panels specifically for high-temperature regions, Qinglong improved slurry water retention capacity by 30% through these optimizations.
Surface Protection Treatment: Building a Moisture-Retaining Barrier
Apply a specialized moisture-retaining coating to GRC panels before delivery, forming a dense protective film that reduces surface moisture evaporation. After the exterior walls are installed, promptly apply UV-resistant coating, which provides both sun protection and moisture retention, preventing direct sunlight from accelerating moisture evaporation. In the Hainan Poly Peninsula No. 1 project, Qinglong applied the dual protection of “moisture-retaining coating + UV-resistant coating” to GRC exterior wall panels, effectively controlling moisture evaporation.
Construction and Curing: Precise On-Site Moisture Control
Schedule construction during cooler morning or evening hours and avoid working at midday heat. Immediately after installation, cover the panels with geotextile or moisture-retaining film and water them at regular intervals to keep surfaces moist, with a curing period of no less than 14 days. Qinglong equips its construction sites with intelligent sprinkler equipment that automatically adjusts watering frequency based on temperature and humidity. In the Shenzhen Longhua Xiangshan Science and Technology Park project, scientific curing resulted in GRC exterior walls free of drying shrinkage cracks and surface sanding.
Controlling moisture evaporation from GRC exterior walls in high-temperature regions is a vital guarantee of project quality. Over 28 years, Qinglong has consistently adhered to the triple principle of “production optimization + surface protection + on-site curing,” delivering customized solutions tailored to the environmental characteristics of high-temperature regions. Scientific moisture evaporation control allows GRC panels to fully hydrate in high-temperature environments, meeting design strength and aesthetic requirements and providing a reliable exterior wall decoration solution for buildings in high-temperature regions.
