Water curing is the "nutrient supply" for GRC panel strength development, and the watering frequency must be adapted to environmental conditions and curing stages. With an automated curing system, Qinglong Group has drawn on 28 years of project practice—including the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater and the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center—to establish scientific water curing standards, ensuring a 100% compliance rate for GRC panel strength.
The core of water curing for GRC panels is keeping the surface moist to prevent drying shrinkage cracks caused by rapid water evaporation. Frequency requirements vary significantly across different stages and environments. Qinglong combines intelligent spray equipment with manual inspections to achieve precise control over the entire curing process.
The initial setting period (days 1-3 after demolding) is critical and requires watering every 2-3 hours to keep the surface continuously moist. During this period, the cement hydration reaction is intense, and insufficient moisture can easily hinder strength development. In the mid-curing period (days 4-7), the frequency can be adjusted to once every 4-6 hours and gradually reduced. In the late curing period (days 8-14), watering twice a day is sufficient to ensure steady strength growth. Qinglong strictly followed this frequency standard in the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, achieving a 100% compliance rate for 28-day GRC panel strength.
In hot, dry environments (temperature ≥30°C, humidity ≤50%), the frequency must be increased—watering every 1-2 hours during the initial setting period, along with covering the panels with geotextile to retain moisture and prevent surface sanding. In low-temperature environments (5-15°C), the frequency can be appropriately reduced, but the surface must be kept from drying out. In a project in northern China, Qinglong covered the panels with thermal and moisture-retention film, reducing watering frequency while maintaining curing effectiveness. On rainy days, watering should stop and water should be drained promptly to prevent ponding from causing slurry segregation.
The Qinglong Curing System: Precise Control Combining Automation and Manual Work
Qinglong's production base is equipped with an intelligent spray curing system that monitors temperature and humidity in real time via sensors and automatically adjusts watering frequency and water volume to ensure uniform curing. For GRC panels on construction sites, a dedicated curing manual is provided to guide contractors in adopting a dual approach of "watering + covering," with clear adjustment plans for different environments. In the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center project, this curing system ensured uniform strength and no drying shrinkage cracks in the GRC roof decorative panels.
The water curing frequency of GRC panels is a fundamental guarantee of strength and durability. For 28 years, Qinglong has consistently adhered to the principle of "stage adaptation and environmental adjustment," using scientifically set frequencies and standardized curing processes to ensure that every GRC panel fully hydrates and reaches its design strength. Scientific water curing may seem simple, but it directly affects project quality—a concrete expression of Qinglong's commitment to meticulousness.
