Indoor GRC decorative panel protection focuses on environmental adaptation—moisture proofing, collision resistance, and stain resistance—to extend the decorative lifespan. Although indoor environments are free from outdoor wind and sun exposure, they carry risks such as moisture, collisions during cross-construction, and daily contamination, so protective measures need to be designed in a targeted way. In its indoor GRC projects, Qinglong has kept the damage rate within 0.5% through full-process protection.

Moisture Protection: Coping with Indoor Humid Environments

In indoor humid areas such as bathrooms, underground garages, and areas around swimming pools, moisture-resistant GRC decorative panels with water absorption ≤6% should be selected. During installation, a 5-10mm ventilation gap should be reserved between components and walls to prevent moisture accumulation. In the Guiyang Huaguoyuan underground garage project, Qinglong used moisture-resistant slurry to produce GRC panels, combined with ventilation gap design, effectively preventing panel mildew and dampness. For long-term humid environments, a moisture-resistant coating can be applied to the back of panels to further enhance moisture resistance.

Collision Protection: Avoiding Human and Construction Damage

In high-traffic indoor areas such as shopping mall atriums and hotel lobbies, GRC decorative panels require enhanced collision protection. After installation, bumper strips no less than 80mm high, made of rubber or flexible wooden materials, should be added at edges and corners. During the construction phase, protective fences should be set up to prevent tools and materials from colliding with panels. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC project, Qinglong added bumper strips to indoor GRC atrium parapets and escalator side panels, effectively avoiding collision damage.

Stain Protection: Reducing Daily Stain Adhesion

Indoor GRC decorative panels are prone to dust, fingerprints, beverage stains, and the like; protection focuses on surface treatment and daily cleaning. A hydrophobic surface treatment process is adopted during production to reduce stain adhesion. In the Huawei Songshan Lake Terminal project, after hydrophobic treatment, dust and fingerprints on Qinglong's indoor GRC decorative panels could be easily wiped away. For daily cleaning, it is recommended to wipe with a soft cloth once a week and avoid oil-based cleaners to prevent oily residue on the surface.

Deformation Protection: Ensuring Long-term Flatness and Beauty

Indoor temperature and humidity changes may cause GRC decorative panels to deform; expansion joints with a spacing of no more than 3m and a width of 5-8mm, filled with elastic sealant, should be reserved during installation. For large-span indoor GRC ceilings and wall panels, additional reinforcing keels should be added to control deformation. In the Zengcheng Cultural Conference Center project, Qinglong ensured the long-term flatness of double-curved GRC arc panels without deformation or cracking through reserved expansion joints and reinforcing keel design.
