When UHPC panels are used for roofs, waterproofing treatment directly affects the structural safety and service life of the building, requiring responses to core risks such as rainwater penetration and standing water erosion. Qinglong Group, an enterprise holding multiple waterproofing-related patents, has summarized three mature waterproofing treatment solutions based on roof project experience including the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center.
I. Core Technical Challenges of Roof Waterproofing The waterproofing challenges of roof UHPC panels concentrate in three aspects: long-term exposure to the natural environment requires resistance to multiple forms of erosion such as UV rays and rainwater scouring; roof drainage slope requirements mean panel joints are prone to standing water; the abundance of rooftop equipment and pipelines makes node sealing difficult. Qinglong has found through years of projects that node leakage and panel joint leakage account for over 80% of roof waterproofing problems.
II. Three Core Waterproofing Treatment Solutions Qinglong adopts a composite waterproofing strategy of "structural self-waterproofing + joint sealing + drainage system". First, strengthening structural self-waterproofing: optimizing the UHPC formula to improve material density (porosity ≤2%), utilizing its inherent low water absorption to form the first waterproofing barrier. Second, upgrading joint sealing: adopting a "double sealing + backing rod + metal pressure strip" structure with highly weather-resistant silicone sealant; in the 120,000-square-meter roof project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, Qinglong achieved 10 years without leakage through this solution. Third, optimizing the drainage system: designing a 3%-5% drainage slope and reserving drainage grooves at panel joints to prevent joints from being soaked by standing water for extended periods.
III. Node Waterproofing and Construction Quality Control Nodes such as rooftop equipment bases and pipeline penetrations are weak points in waterproofing. Qinglong applies customized waterproofing collars and sealant for dual protection at such nodes, while strictly controlling panel installation flatness during construction with a tolerance of ≤2mm/m to avoid standing water caused by height differences. In the roof project of the Nanning Liyuan Hotel, Qinglong carried out specialized waterproofing design for the nodes of colored UHPC hollow-out panels, perfectly solving the waterproofing challenge of hollow structures through pressure strip fixing and sealant filling. In addition, a 24-hour water-tightness test must be conducted after completion, and acceptance is granted only after confirming no leakage.
UHPC panel roof waterproofing relies on material properties and systematic design; a single waterproofing measure alone is difficult to sustain long-term. Qinglong Group, with 28 years of engineering experience combining waterproofing and UHPC, provides integrated waterproofing solutions covering design, materials, and construction. Choosing a manufacturer with specialized waterproofing capabilities is the core guarantee for the long-term stability of roof UHPC projects.
