GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) installation is a systematic project that requires following scientific standard steps to ensure installation quality, safety, and efficiency. Qinglong Group has spent 28 years deeply engaged in full-chain GRC services and has developed a standardized installation process covering everything from preliminary preparation to final acceptance, providing professional guidance for all types of GRC projects.
The core of GRC installation is "precision, stability, and standardization," with each step interconnected and interlocking. Whether it is conventional GRC moldings and flat panels, or complex double-curved and oversized components, all must strictly follow the standard process. With this standardized installation system, Qinglong has successfully completed many highly challenging projects such as the Wuhan Han Show Theatre and the Guangxi New Media Center, validating the scientific and practical nature of the process through real-world practice.
Preliminary Preparation: Laying the Foundation for Installation. Three core tasks must be completed before installation: first, familiarize yourself with the design drawings and clarify requirements such as the installation positions, dimensions, and fixing methods of GRC components; second, substrate treatment—clear debris and dust from the installation area to ensure the substrate is flat and solid, and for areas requiring embedded parts, complete the installation and acceptance of embedded parts in advance; third, component entry inspection—verify the model, dimensions, and quantity of GRC components, and check for damage, cracking, or other issues; substandard components are strictly prohibited from entering the site. Qinglong conducts strict quality testing when components arrive on site, ensuring that every product meets installation requirements.
Measurement and Setting Out: Establishing Precise Positioning Benchmarks. Based on the design drawings and actual site conditions, use professional tools such as total stations and levels for measurement and setting out, marking the installation elevations, axis positions, and control lines of GRC components. For complex-shaped components, Qinglong uses a combination of BIM technology and 3D laser scanning to build on-site 3D models, achieving precise positioning and avoiding installation deviations. After setting out is completed, a review must be conducted to ensure markings are clear and accurate.
On-Site Trial Assembly: Optimizing Installation Details. For GRC components with complex shapes or those installed in batches, on-site trial assembly is required before installation. Trial assembly checks the joint gaps, dimensional compatibility, and overall shape effect of components, allowing timely adjustment of any deviating components. In the Shanghai Xinghewan project, Qinglong optimized the jointing details between GRC moldings and reliefs through trial assembly, ensuring a unified overall style and natural transitions after installation. Once the trial assembly passes, components are numbered for orderly subsequent installation.
Component Installation: Secure Fixing at the Core. Select the appropriate installation method based on component type: conventional components use dry-hanging or multi-point hanging methods, while complex components are fixed with custom brackets. During installation, first fix the reference components, then install the other components in sequence, using levels and plumb bobs in real time to verify the verticality and flatness of components. Throughout the installation process, Qinglong strictly controls installation deviations, ensuring verticality deviations do not exceed 3mm and flatness deviations do not exceed 2mm. When fixing connectors, torque wrenches are used to precisely control tightening force, ensuring secure connections.
Sealing Treatment: Ensuring Service Performance. After installation is complete, seal the joint gaps, fixing points, and other areas of the components. Clean dust and debris from the gaps, insert foam strips, then apply special sealant, ensuring the sealant is even, full, and free of air bubbles. The sealant selected by Qinglong offers excellent weather resistance and adhesion, effectively preventing rainwater penetration, protecting components and connectors, and extending the service life of the GRC system.
Final Acceptance: Ensuring Project Quality. Once all installation is complete, conduct a comprehensive final acceptance inspection. Check whether the installation positions, verticality, flatness, and joint gaps of GRC components meet design and code requirements, test the solidity of fixing points, and verify that sealing treatment has been properly carried out. Qinglong organizes a professional acceptance team to inspect each item against standards, and after passing acceptance, produces a complete acceptance report to ensure project delivery quality.
Standardized installation steps are key to the successful implementation of GRC projects, and Qinglong Group's advantages lie not only in standardized processes but also in the ability to flexibly adjust details according to project characteristics. Relying on 28 years of construction experience, Qinglong can provide customized installation solutions for different types of GRC projects, controlling quality throughout from preliminary preparation to final acceptance. Choosing a manufacturer with a standardized installation system is an important guarantee for the safety and durability of GRC projects, and Qinglong will always safeguard every project with a professional and rigorous attitude.
