GRC curtain wall of Guangxi New Media Center

The Nanning New Media Center Building is one of the key construction projects for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Construction began on August 15, 2016, with a total investment of 2 billion yuan. In less than two years, the building was completed, which not only once again demonstrated the speed of China's "infrastructure maniac", but also reflected the high work efficiency and tacit teamwork of the contractors such as Qinglong.

Upon completion, the building became a new landmark in Nanning. Composed of three main towers, the structure, viewed from above, resembles a flowing ribbon dancing in the city sky, exuding a striking sense of line, technology, and modernity. Its design is said to be primarily inspired by twisted irregular shapes and three-dimensional curved surfaces, further showcasing the artistic beauty of architecture.

Qinglong Company, a well-known enterprise in the domestic GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) industry, undertook the project of hyperboloid exterior wall panels for the three main structures of the new media center. Because no two panels are exactly alike, they not only had to withstand the erosion of wind and rain at high altitudes, but adjacent panels also needed to fit together tightly with tenons and mortise and tenons, creating a seamless, streamlined aesthetic. This necessitated the creation of numerous molds, making the project extremely complex. However, the Qinglong GRC team overcame numerous difficulties, achieving excellence in every step of the process, from detailed design and selection of colored GRC materials to the production of shaped products and installation, resulting in high satisfaction from both the client and the supervisor.

According to Liu Renxin, Assistant General Manager of Qinglong Company in charge of the project, the New Media Center Building is a gift from Guangxi to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the autonomous region. Its exquisite design and complex craftsmanship, coupled with Qinglong's extremely short timeframe, placed immense pressure on the Qinglong GRC team. However, the Qinglong team persevered, utilizing the company's advanced technology and equipment to not only produce beautiful and exquisite colored GRC components but also shorten the construction period, successfully completing the task within the stipulated time and receiving high praise.
