Performance Improvement Role of GRC Admixtures and Prohibited Categories: Industry Norms and Qinglong Application Standards

Admixtures are the "performance optimizers" of GRC materials. First, chloride-containing admixtures are prohibited, such as calcium chloride and magnesium chloride, as these can cause excessive chloride ion content in GRC, accelerating corrosion of glass fibers and rusting of steel frames. Second, high-alkalinity admixtures are prohibited to avoid intensifying the alkalinity of the system, which would erode alkali-resistant glass fibers and compromise long-term product strength. Third, admixtures containing harmful organic substances are prohibited, as such substances can interfere with cement hydration reactions, reducing GRC strength and durability, and may also cause environmental pollution. The Technical Standard for Building Application of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) (JGJ/T423-2018), which Qinglong participated in developing, sets out detailed specifications for GRC admixture selection criteria, providing a technical basis for the industry.
