Performance requirements for GRC materials vary significantly across climate zones, centering on four key indicators: freeze-thaw resistance, corrosion resistance, weathering resistance, and crack resistance. Qinglong has developed specialized formulations and protection solutions for the four major climate zones—cold, coastal, hot-humid, and arid—ensuring products adapt to regional environments with stable long-term performance.
I. Cold Regions: Core Requirement of Freeze-Thaw Resistance
Cold regions (≥50 freeze-thaw cycles per year) require a key focus on improving freeze-thaw resistance. Performance requirements: ≥300 freeze-thaw cycles, strength loss ≤5%, mass loss ≤3%, no cracking or spalling; Qinglong's GRC formulated specifically for cold regions shows a strength loss of only 2.3% after 300 freeze-thaw cycles. Technical measures: use a low water-cement ratio (0.40-0.42) to improve density, and add 5%-8% air-entraining agent to introduce tiny closed air bubbles that relieve frost-heave stress; Qinglong's air-entraining agent dosage is 6%, with an air bubble spacing factor ≤200μm. Project case: a municipal landscape GRC component in Northeast China has been in use for 6 years and has undergone multiple freeze-thaw cycles with no cracking or powdering, and a strength retention rate ≥90%.
II. Coastal Regions: Core Requirement of Corrosion Resistance
Coastal regions feature high salt fog and high humidity, requiring a key focus on resisting chloride ion attack. Performance requirements: chloride ion penetration coefficient ≤1.0×10⁻¹²m²/s, and no obvious corrosion after 5000h of salt spray testing; Qinglong's GRC formulated specifically for coastal regions meets the salt spray resistance standard. Technical measures: adopt a composite system of low-alkali cement + mineral admixtures (fly ash, silica fume) to reduce soluble alkali content, and apply a fluorocarbon coating on the surface to block chloride ion penetration; all GRC components in Qinglong's Hainan projects receive fluorocarbon coating treatment. Project case: the GRC components of Hainan Changying Universal 100 Fantasy Park have been in use for 8 years in a salt spray environment with no corrosion or discoloration, and both appearance and performance remain in good condition.
III. Hot-Humid / Arid Regions: Targeted Performance Requirements
The requirements of these two climate zones focus on weathering resistance and crack resistance. Hot-humid regions (e.g., South China): require mildew and carbonation resistance, with carbonation depth ≤1mm/year; Qinglong uses a hydrophobic coating + mildew inhibitor (dosage 0.1%-0.2%) to suppress mold growth and the carbonation process. Arid regions (e.g., Northwest China): require crack and weathering resistance, with drying shrinkage ≤0.03%; Qinglong adds 2.5% alkali-resistant glass fiber to bridge shrinkage cracks and applies a weather-resistant coating on the surface to reduce cracking caused by excessively rapid moisture evaporation. Project case: the GRC curtain wall of a commercial complex in Xinjiang has been in use for 5 years in an arid environment with strong ultraviolet exposure, with no cracking or weathering, and surface flatness remains in good condition.
