I. Common Stain Types and Characteristics of GRC Decorative Panels

Cleaning methods vary significantly depending on the type of stain. Everyday dust and floating dust have weak adhesion and are easy to clean; oil stains (such as cooking oil and machine oil) are highly penetrating and tend to form stubborn stains—on outdoor GRC curtain wall panels in particular, long-term exposure makes them prone to absorbing dust and forming greasy sludge; water marks and efflorescence are mostly caused by rain washout or improper curing—after water evaporates, mineral crystals are left behind, and coastal areas are also prone to salt stains; pigment contamination (such as coatings and paints) adheres strongly and is difficult to clean, and if not treated promptly it can penetrate into the interior. During the maintenance of the Shenzhen Longhua Xiangshan Science and Technology Park project, Qinglong handled many types of stains and accumulated rich hands-on experience.

II. Safe Cleaning Methods for Different Stains

Targeted cleaning ensures both effectiveness and safety. Dust and floating dust: rinse with a high-pressure water gun (pressure ≤2MPa) together with gentle brushing using a soft-bristle brush to avoid high-pressure damage to the surface. Oil stains: first spray and cover with a neutral cleaner (such as diluted dish detergent), let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then wipe with a soft cloth; stubborn oil stains can be treated with a dedicated degreaser, and strongly acidic or alkaline cleaners are strictly prohibited. Water marks and efflorescence: wipe with diluted white vinegar (white vinegar: water = 1:5) or use a dedicated anti-efflorescence agent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water after cleaning. Pigment contamination: wipe promptly with a damp cloth before it dries; once dry, use a dedicated paint remover—apply to a small area and then scrape off, avoiding large-area application that could damage the surface.

III. Safety Precautions During Cleaning

Standardized operation avoids damage to GRC decorative panels. Before cleaning, test the cleaner on a concealed area of the component first and confirm it causes no corrosion before use; sharp tools such as steel wool balls and hard-bristle brushes are prohibited to avoid scratching the surface; when rinsing with a high-pressure water gun, keep the nozzle at an angle of ≥45° to the component surface and at a distance of ≥30cm to prevent surface damage from excessive impact; choose sunny weather for cleaning to avoid cleaner residue from rainy-day cleaning, and promptly wipe off surface moisture after cleaning to prevent new water marks. During the cleaning of the Shanghai Xinghewan project, Qinglong achieved zero stain residue with no surface damage through standardized operation.

IV. Long-Term Protection and Stain Prevention Measures

Establish a long-term protection mechanism to reduce stain accumulation. Perform regular cleaning and maintenance: indoor components should be cleaned once a quarter, and outdoor components once every six months; apply a penetrating protective agent to the surface to form a hydrophobic protective film that reduces water and stain penetration—Qinglong's dedicated protective agent can reduce surface water absorption by more than 60%; avoid piling stain-prone items around GRC decorative panels, and install sunshades over outdoor components to reduce rain washout and dust adhesion; repair surface damage promptly to prevent stains from penetrating through damaged areas.
