Color fading is mainly influenced by both material and environmental factors. At the material level, pigment selection is crucial: inorganic pigments (such as the iron oxide series) offer better weather resistance than organic pigments, achieving lightfastness of grade 7-8, whereas ordinary organic pigments tend to fade after 2-3 years of sun exposure; insufficient pigment content (below 3%) results in poor color coverage, while excessive content (above 8%) affects UHPC strength, so the ratio must be precisely controlled. At the environmental level, strong UV radiation is the primary cause of color fading, as long-term exposure leads to pigment decomposition; corrosive media in coastal areas with high salt spray and in industrially polluted environments accelerate surface fading and whitening. The pigment dispersion process is optimized by adopting high-speed stirring plus ultrasonic dispersion so that pigments are evenly distributed in the UHPC matrix, avoiding localized color unevenness and fading. UV absorbers and anti-aging agents are added at a dosage of 0.5%-1%, effectively blocking the UV-induced decomposition of pigments and extending color life.
