Wind pressure deformation performance is a core indicator of GRC curtain wall wind resistance safety, directly related to a building's ability to withstand typhoons and strong winds. Conducting testing in accordance with standards to ensure accurate and reliable data is key to curtain wall design and acceptance. Drawing on years of testing experience and industry standards, Qinglong explains the key points of testing.
I. Testing Basis and Core Standards
Testing of GRC curtain wall wind pressure deformation performance must strictly follow the "Test Methods for Air Tightness, Water Tightness, and Wind Pressure Resistance of Building Curtain Walls" (GB/T 15227-2021) and the "Technical Standard for Building Applications of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC)" (JGJ/T423-2018). Core testing indicators include wind pressure deformation performance grade, maximum wind pressure bearing capacity, and panel deflection. Different building heights and wind load levels correspond to different testing standards. GRC curtain walls of coastal high-rise buildings must achieve a wind pressure resistance grade of ≥9 (wind pressure value ≥5.0kPa). In Qinglong's high-rise building projects in Shenzhen, testing standards were all implemented accordingly.
II. Testing Equipment and Sample Preparation
Professional equipment and standard samples are the foundation of testing accuracy. Testing uses curtain wall wind pressure resistance testing devices, including an air source system, pressure control system, and displacement measurement system, with pressure measurement accuracy of ≤±0.01kPa and displacement measurement accuracy of ≤0.01mm. Sample preparation must simulate the actual installation state, selecting representative GRC panels (dimensions ≥1.2m×1.2m), with matching real connectors and keels, assembled according to design requirements to ensure boundary conditions are consistent with actual conditions. Qinglong's testing samples are all made from the same components as the project, ensuring test results reflect actual conditions.
III. Testing Procedures and Control Points
The testing process is carried out according to the standard procedure of "pre-pressurization - staged loading - deformation measurement - result determination". Pre-pressurization stage: apply ±500Pa pressure for 30 seconds to eliminate initial sample deformation; Staged loading: starting from 0, increasing by 0.5kPa per stage, with each stage's pressure maintained for 60 seconds while measuring panel center deflection and joint deformation; Ultimate state determination: when panel cracking, connector failure, or deflection exceeding L/150 (L is the panel span) occurs, stop loading and record the maximum wind pressure withstood. Data must be monitored in real time during testing to avoid sample damage caused by sudden pressure changes. In the testing of a project in Dongguan, Qinglong ensured authentic and reliable test data through precise pressure control.
IV. Application of Test Results and Rectification Measures
Test results directly guide curtain wall design optimization and construction adjustments. For GRC curtain walls that pass testing, test reports must be retained as the basis for acceptance; when testing fails, targeted rectification is required, such as increasing panel thickness, densifying connectors, and optimizing keel spacing. Qinglong once optimized GRC panel thickness for a coastal project from 20mm to 25mm to meet wind pressure resistance requirements. First-article testing is required before mass production, and proportional sampling re-inspection during mass production ensures product consistency. Through full-process testing control, Qinglong's GRC curtain wall wind pressure resistance testing pass rate remains stable above 99%, providing reliable safety assurance for coastal projects.
