Embedded parts for UHPC component installation are the core components connecting components to the main structure. Material selection directly affects connection safety and durability. Especially in harsh environments such as outdoor and coastal areas, the material requirements for embedded parts are more stringent. Clarifying material standards and anti-corrosion measures is key to avoiding installation risks. Drawing on 28 years of practical experience, Qinglong analyzes the core material requirements for embedded parts.
I. Selection Criteria for Core Embedded Part Materials
Embedded parts for UHPC component installation should preferentially use stainless steel and carbon steel materials, which must comply with the corresponding national standards. For stainless steel embedded parts, 304 or 316 grades are recommended. 304 stainless steel is suitable for indoor dry environments, with corrosion resistance meeting conventional needs; 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum and offers better salt spray corrosion resistance, making it suitable for coastal and high-humidity environments such as the Hainan Poly Peninsula No. 1 project. Qinglong uses 316 stainless steel embedded parts in all its coastal projects. Carbon steel embedded parts use Q235B or Q355B steel, which offers high strength and low cost and is suitable for indoor low-corrosion environments, but requires strict anti-corrosion treatment. Embedded part materials must meet tensile strength ≥400MPa, yield strength ≥235MPa, and elongation ≥20% to ensure load-bearing capacity meets standards.
II. Anti-Corrosion Treatment Requirements for Embedded Part Materials
Anti-corrosion treatment is central to extending the service life of embedded parts, and targeted treatment is required based on the material and service environment. Carbon steel embedded parts must undergo hot-dip galvanizing with a galvanized layer thickness ≥85μm and a surface free of missed plating and peeling. Qinglong's carbon steel embedded parts additionally receive passivation treatment to enhance anti-corrosion performance, making them suitable for general outdoor environments. Stainless steel embedded parts require pickling and passivation treatment on the surface to remove the oxide layer and enhance corrosion resistance; coastal projects can further adopt fluorocarbon coating treatment for dual anti-corrosion protection. The contact areas between embedded parts and UHPC require a dedicated isolation agent to prevent electrochemical corrosion and ensure firm bonding between the two. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, Qinglong extended the service life of embedded parts to more than 20 years through precise anti-corrosion treatment.
III. Material Upgrade Solutions for Embedded Parts in Special Environments
Extreme environments require upgrading embedded part materials and anti-corrosion measures to ensure connection safety. In industrially polluted environments (containing acidic or alkaline media), embedded parts made of Hastelloy are used, which offer excellent chemical corrosion resistance, paired with polyurea coating for anti-corrosion protection. In cold and high-altitude environments, low-temperature resistant carbon steel (no brittle fracture at -40°C) is selected to avoid material embrittlement caused by low temperatures. In environments with strong ultraviolet exposure, titanium-containing stainless steel should be used for stainless steel embedded parts to improve UV aging resistance and prevent surface oxidation and fading. In the Sichuan Panzhihua Third Front Construction project, targeting the hot and dry environment, Qinglong selected 316L stainless steel embedded parts paired with ceramic coating for anti-corrosion protection, ensuring long-term stable use and addressing environmental challenges through material upgrades.
IV. Quality Control and Testing Standards for Embedded Part Materials
Embedded part materials must undergo strict testing to ensure compliance with design requirements. Incoming inspection includes material composition analysis (spectral testing), mechanical property testing (tensile and bending tests), and anti-corrosion coating thickness testing (magnetic measurement method). Qinglong samples and tests ≥3% of each batch of embedded parts, and unqualified products are strictly prohibited from use. Before installation, the appearance quality of embedded parts is checked for no deformation, cracks, or rust, with dimensional error ≤±1mm. After installation, pull-out tests are conducted to check the anchoring force, ensuring it reaches at least 1.2 times the design value. In the Guangzhou Dongzhu Shangdu Commercial City project, Qinglong achieved a 100% pass rate for embedded part pull-out tests. A sound quality control system is the core guarantee for embedded part material performance to meet standards, avoiding connection failure caused by material issues.
