GRC installation requires core hoisting tools, fixing and connection tools, measuring and positioning tools, and auxiliary tools. Tool selection must take into account component weight, installation scenarios, and precision requirements. Professional tool configuration is key to ensuring installation quality and efficiency. Drawing on 28 years of construction experience, Qinglong Group has compiled a complete list of GRC installation tools to meet the needs of different project scenarios.
I. Core Hoisting Tools: Key to Component Transfer and Positioning
Small cranes/truck cranes: Used for hoisting medium and large GRC components (weight ≥50kg), such as Roman columns and large curtain wall panels. Qinglong commonly uses 8-25 ton truck cranes to accommodate components of different weights. The Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone project used a 25-ton truck crane to complete the hoisting of 30,000 square meters of GRC curtain wall. Electric hoists/manual hoists: Suitable for small components (weight <50kg) or installation in narrow indoor spaces, such as decorative moldings and small reliefs. Qinglong is equipped with 1-5 ton electric hoists, improving efficiency with flexible operation. Gondolas/scaffolding: Used for high-altitude exterior wall GRC installation. Gondolas are suitable for high-rise buildings, while scaffolding works for low-rise or complex facades. The Qinglong Nanning Nanhu Mingdu project used electric gondolas to install high-altitude GRC European-style components, safely and efficiently. Lifting devices and slings: Specialized lifting devices with a load capacity ≥1.5 times the component weight should be selected to avoid damage to components. Qinglong customizes flexible slings specifically for GRC to reduce surface wear on components during hoisting.
II. Fixing and Connection Tools: Ensuring Secure Installation
Electric wrenches/impact drills: Used for tightening connectors and drilling. Electric wrenches offer precise torque and are suitable for tightening stainless steel bolts, while impact drills are used for drilling in walls or steel structure bases. Qinglong uses professional tools from brands such as Bosch to ensure secure connections. Specialized connectors: Including dry-hanging fittings, angle brackets, expansion bolts, etc., which must be customized according to component type and installation substrate. Qinglong's stainless steel dry-hanging fittings offer excellent corrosion resistance and are suitable for coastal high-salt-spray environments. The specialized connectors in the Hainan Poly Peninsula No. 1 project have a service life of over 20 years. Sealant guns and tools: Used for sealing component joints. High-pressure sealant guns are required to ensure even application of sealant. Qinglong uses fully automatic sealant guns, delivering uniform sealing and excellent waterproof performance. Welding equipment: Used for welding steel structure bases and fixing connectors, such as CO2 gas shielded welding machines. Qinglong's construction team is equipped with professional welding equipment to ensure welding strength meets standards.
III. Measuring and Positioning Tools: Ensuring Installation Precision
Laser levels/theodolites: Used for calibrating installation datum lines and testing verticality. Laser levels achieve a precision of ±0.1mm/m, while theodolites are used for positioning complex curved components. For the hyperbolic GRC installation at the Guangxi New Media Center, Qinglong used high-precision laser theodolites, with positioning errors ≤±1.5mm. Total stations: Suitable for overall positioning of large projects, enabling three-dimensional coordinate measurement. For the Luban Award-winning Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone project, Qinglong used a total station for overall installation datum positioning to ensure global precision. Tape measures and straightedges: Conventional measuring tools. Tape measures need a precision of 1mm, and straightedges are used to check the flatness of installed components. Qinglong's construction team is equipped with a full set of precision measuring tools and performs precision checks at every step of the process.
IV. Auxiliary Tools and Safety Equipment
Cutting tools: Angle grinders and cutters are used for on-site fine-tuning cuts of components and need to be fitted with diamond cutting blades. Qinglong uses specialized GRC cutting tools, producing smooth cut surfaces without damage. Cleaning tools: Brushes and cleaning agents are used for cleaning component surfaces and post-installation cleanup to ensure decorative effects. Qinglong's custom GRC-specific cleaning agent does not damage the surface texture of components. Safety equipment: Safety helmets, safety harnesses, non-slip shoes, etc. Fall arresters are required for work at height. Qinglong's construction team strictly implements safety regulations, with a 100% safety equipment provision rate. Lighting tools: Portable LED lights are used for indoor or nighttime construction lighting to ensure clear operation. Qinglong is equipped with mobile lighting devices suitable for different construction environments.
Proper configuration and standardized use of GRC installation tools are fundamental to ensuring construction quality. Qinglong Group develops customized tool configuration plans based on different project scenarios and, combined with professional operating standards, ensures efficient and precise installation. Choosing a manufacturer with complete tool configuration and professional construction capabilities is key to the successful implementation of GRC installation projects.
